Michael G. Wadzinski, M.D.

Dr. Michael Wadzinski is Board Certified and specializes in diseases and surgery of the vitreous and retina.

He received his medical degree from the University of Nebraska where he graduated with honors, and he completed prestigious Sarnoff research fellowship at Harvard under the direction of Dr. Judah Folliman.  It was at this time that he studied growth factors which are important in many eye diseases such as macular degeneration and diabetes.

He then completed an internal medicine internship and Ophthalmology residency at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center where he received the honor of a top resident physicians from the University Hospital, in addition to receiving the outstanding resident research award.  In his final year, he served as chief resident.

He completed a retina fellowship at Devers Eye Institute in Portland, Oregon.

A native Nebraskan, Dr. Wadzinski has lived in Sioux City for over 20 years providing exceptional retinal eye care to the Siouxland community.  He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Iowa Academy of Ophthalmology, Woodbury County Medical Society, and the American Society of Retina Specialists.

Dr. Wadzinski and his wife Rhonda have three children.  He loves to travel, the outdoors, running, golfing, skiing, cooking, yoga, reading, and spending time with family and friends.  He enjoys life in general, and considers every day a gift.
