Conjunctivitis

Commonly called “pink eye”, conjunctivitis is an inflammation or infection of the conjunctiva. The conjunctiva is a clear protective membrane covering the white part of the eye. The conjunctiva has many small blood vessels that become larger and more prominent when an irritant is introduced to the eye. This causes the eye to become pink or red.

Symptoms

  • Watery Eyes
  • Foreign body sensation
  • Sore, irritated eyes
  • Red, inflamed eyes
  • Mucous or pus like discharge
  • Crustiness of eyelashes in the morning
