Corneal Abrasion

A corneal abrasion is an injury such as a scratch to the cornea (clear window on the front of the eye). Abrasions are commonly caused by fingernail scratches, paper cuts or tree branches to name a few.

Symptoms

  • Foreign body sensation
  • Sensitivity to light
  • Red, inflamed eyes
  • Tearing
